Fire destroys Daro health clinic

    DARO, Sarawak: A fire today destroyed the Daro district health clinic that has been serving more than 30,000 residents for over 20 years. Daro Police chief DSP Wagner Lisa Libut said no one was injured in the blaze which occurred at 3.45am.
    "We (the police) and local residents tried to put out fire but failed and we contacted the Mukah Fire and Rescue Department," he said when contacted by Bernama.
    He said an investigation was being carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
    Mukah Fire and Rescue station chief Alimat Sam said the fire was put out by 8.20am and that it had also damaged an ambulance, a four-wheel-drive vehicle and four cars belonging to the clinic staff parked in the compound.
    Initial investigation found that the fire started at one of the rooms in the clinic. – Bernama
