Creative eyebrows, quirky eye trends for Spring/Summer 2016

AFTER a whirlwind Fashion Week circuit spanning New York, London, Milan and Paris, we can finally look at the big picture for Spring / Summer 2016, and when it comes to beauty, there are some exciting trends ahead. Here are the top five.

Eyebrows are the new lips
When it comes to injecting color into your beauty look next season then you need to aim high – brow-high, to be exact.
A sweep of vivid color just under or on top of the brow was the thing on the catwalks this fall, from Missoni and Max Mara to Fendi and Bestsey Johnson.
If a green eyebrow stripe isn't going to work for you in real life then follow Marc Jacobs' example and nod to the look by opting for a vibrant eyeshadow smudged a little higher than usual on the socket.

...Except at Prada
Prada's gold disco lip had everyone talking, but the Italian house wasn't the only label to focus on the pout. From the deep plum hue on show at Emporio Armani to the bright fuchsia at Giles, lips, when they were emphasised, were daring and bold.
There was a noticeable swerve away from classic reds, with Burberry opting for a warm oxblood shade and Emilio de la Morena choosing a vibrant violet.

Get creative
There were a number of quirky beauty looks on the catwalks this season, but one of the main trends was unconventional eye makeup.
There were goggle-like stripes of color at Chanel, geometric prints at Maison Margiela that spread up to the temple, and rouged eye sockets at Olympia Le Tan.
Think big, bright and artistic.

Natural girls rule
The big lesson we learned this season was that lazy girl makeup is about to become seriously hot. Alexander Wang set the tone with his barefaced 'no concept' look, sending models down the runway looking carefree and 'undone'.
Elsewhere, Opening Ceremony championed a nude, muted lip with glossy skin for a low-key effect, and Vera Wang's "Belle du Jour"-inspired show saw models sporting glossy hair and minimalist yet luminescent foundation coverage.
Dior followed suit with a pretty, fresh-faced look.

Let your hair down
Following on from this was the trend for unfussy hair, with Trussardi, Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors and Lacoste just some of the labels opting to send their models out sporting loose, long waves, occasionally slightly matted or a little flyaway for a more interesting texture.
