PETALING JAYA: The kidnapped five-year-old boy was found safe after almost six hours and reunited with family.
Confirming this, Kajang police chief ACP Willey Richard said the boy has been taken for a medical check up while investigation on the incident is ongoing.
Lee Zhi Yang was kidnapped by two men after making small talks with his mother Lim Ker Shing at a residential area in Sungai Chua, Kajang.
A taxi driver, only wanted to be known as Nizam had reportedly found the boy walking along the roadside and recognised him from the pictures circulated on social media.
According to police report made by the father Lee Kim Wen, the incident happened at 9am when his wife was taking their son to kindergaten.
Since then a video footage and messages of the kidnap went viral in social media and causing alarm.
A false message of the child being found much earlier with the kidnappers nabbed by police was also circulated.
This led to the police issuing a caution note to the public to stop spreading the messages as the family feared for Zhi Yang's safety and it was interrupting investigations.
A video footage of the scene when Zhi Yang was reunited with the family is included below.
