Almost half of tatau longhouse destroyed by fire

SIBU: Ten of the 21 doors of a longhouse in Nanga Rungan in Tatau, Bintulu were razed in a fire early yesterday.
According to Fire and Rescue officer, Azrel Izadi Ahmad, the station received a call at 2.33am.
However as the longhouse, Rumah Michael Cina could only be reached by river and plantation road 80km away, the station could not send its team to put out the fire.
Three personnel could only take a boat at 8am and reached the location at 12pm yesterday.
The cause of fire is being investigated. — Bernama
