MIC Youth and Wanita chiefs elected unopposed

KUALA LUMPUR: The team of incumbents MIC Youth leader C. Sivarah and Wanita chief Mohana Muniandy were elected unopposed to their respective posts when nominations closed today.
Also elected uncontested were Youth deputy leader R. Thinalan and Wanita deputy leader T. Thangarani.
However there is keen contest for the 12 executive committee posts in each wings.
MIC president Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam, who is the election committee chairman, said it was a good thing that both wings have elected their leaders without contest.
"It helps to reduce campaign generated divisions in the party," he said.
