MCA Youth to follow up with ministries and party on resolutions passed

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA Youth will follow up with the respective ministries and party leaders on the resolutions passed during its annual general meeting.

The party chief Chong Sin Woon told reporters that if the resolutions passed is ministry-related then they will follow it up with that particular ministry and if it is party-related resolution then they will follow it up with the party.

In today MCA Youth AGM, the delegates unanimously passed all the 17 resolutions raised after more than two hours of debates at Wisma MCA. The resolutions raised ranged from party affairs, MCA Youth affairs, politics, economy, culture and education.

Among the resolutions passed were the youth wing will give their full support towards transformation conducted party president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and deputy president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong, urge the government to hasten the process of solving the financial problem of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), standing firm on going against the implementation of hudud law, and support the concept of moderation over extremism.

Other resolutions that have been passed included urging the Attorney-General Chamber not to be selective or having double standard in putting charges to those who violate the laws or inciting racism, the government need to undertake certain strategies to stabilize the weakening ringgit, and remain committed in defending the rights of having vernacular schools.

On separate issue, Chong mentioned that they will re-look at having the MCA Youth AGM at a different time.

"The attendance among the delegate today is below satisfactory and the contributing factor for it is due to some of the delegates is require to work on a Saturday, hence, we are considering of having next year AGM at a different time," he said after closing the youth wing AGM.
