Noisy group assaults man after being scolded

    KUALA LUMPUR: A man was severely injured after he was battered and slashed for telling off a group of men who had been drinking and making noise at the Intan Baiduri People's Housing Projects (PPR) here.
    Sentul district police chief ACP R. Munusamy said the brawl broke out on Tuesday midnight about 12.05am between the victim and a group of men on the stairway of the 13th floor of the flat.
    "The 23-year-old victim was assaulted after he asked the group to disperse and avoid making noise.
    "He was slashed five times on the head and thrice on his left hand and leg. He was sent to Hospital Selayang for treatment," he said.
    According to Munusamy, the victim is now in stable condition after surgery.
    He said two among the five men who allegedly attacked the victim had been identified.
    "We are on hunt for the the identified duo believed to be involved with the incident to assist the investigations," he added.
    The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing severe injury.
