GEORGE TOWN: Berjaya Land Bhd (BLand) has sold more than 45% of the first parcel of its Jesselton Villas development in Penang, since the official launch in May last year.
“This is a good response,” senior project manager Victor Leong Guan Yeonghe said when met after a tai-chi session at the project site, which sits beside the Penang Turf Club here yesterday.
Located on Penang Island, Jesselton Villas is a 58-acre guarded freehold development made up of three parcels.
The first parcel, dubbed Kensington Gardens, covers 26 acres and offers 69 bungalow lots sized from 556.95 sq m to 895.02 sq m.
The RM900 million gross development (GDV) project is spread over 23.47ha in three phases and is set to become a prominent landmark in Penang.
The construction of Kensington Gardens began early this month and is slated for completion in 2018.
BLand general manager Teh Baizura Mohsin, meanwhile, said work also included the transplant of more than 300 mature trees in the site to ensure that the lush greenery is maintained.
The concept of Jesselton Villas is that of communal living and security, while providing a liveable and sustainable environment for residents.
