PETALING JAYA: A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured after an attempt to rob a restaurant at Taman Laman Rimbunan, Kepong, today.
Sentul acting police chief Supt Mohd Sukri Kaman said the incident happened when the teenager and his 24-year-old accomplice tried to flee the scene by climbing onto the roof of the restaurant when they realised police had arrived at the scene.
"In the 6.30am incident, the teenager, who had no identity card with him, sustained serious head injuries after he jumped onto the roof and fell," he said, adding that the accomplice was also arrested.
Mohd Sukri said quick response by police prevented the two thieves from getting anything from the shop.
The teenager was sent to Selayang Hospital for treatment.
