THE one-stop platform for all your home needs, Home Décor and Design Exhibition (Homedec) 2015 recently wrapped up its two phased showcase at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
One of the highlights was the PAM-Homedec Awards 2015 for Residential Renovation which was held in succession to the event. The bi-yearly affair congregated the best local talents of the industry to recognise the outstanding work of architects and promote awareness of the esteemed profession.
The PAM-Homedec Awards 2015 is a joint collaboration between Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) and Homedec. The event is organised by C.I.S Network.
AWARD WINNING DESIGNS
There were three categories for this year’s awards, which were:
* Category A: bungalow/semi detached
* Category B: terrace (house)
* Category C: a newly added student category to promote the work of promising future architects.
Winners were selected from a total of 16 entries and judged by a group of honourable members of the architecture fraternity.
“We are delighted to showcase these architects’ achievements in creating some truly beautiful and outstanding dwelling spaces. Through this award, Homedec will share and be the ground to educate homeowners about good designed homes, as well as understanding the profession of architects and their role,” shared C.I.S Network president Datuk Vincent Lim (pix).
Both gold winners of category A and B were each awarded with a return air ticket to Adelaide, Australia each, sponsored by Homedec, along with a trophy and certificate. The winners will also get to attend the Royal Australian Institute of Architects 2016 National Architecture Conference 2016.
PAM president Mohd Zulhemlee An said, “This award provides the opportunity for architects, especially the younger architects who are just starting out, to gain recognition for their effort. This is because most young architects start with renovation works either for family or friends. To be recognised by the PAM Homedec award will give the architects a good platform to bigger and more lucrative projects.”
