Bursa issues UMA to Genetec

PETALING JAYA: Bursa Malaysia has issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query to Genetec Technology Bhd in relation to the rise in price and volume of the company's shares recently.
The share price of the ACE Market-listed company closed 20% higher yesterday at 27 sen from the opening price of 23 sen, with a total of 157.6 million shares traded. Last Friday, its share price remained unchanged at 23 sen with a total of 46.3 million shares traded.
The company has been instructed to disclose any corporate development relating to the group's business and affairs that has not been previously announced, that may account for the trading activity including those in the stage of negotiations/discussion.
It is also required to disclose any rumour or report concerning the business and affairs of the group and whether it is aware of any other possible explanation to account for the trading activity.
Genetec Technology is involved in the designing and building of customised factory automation equipment and integrated vision inspection systems.
