PETALING JAYA: An amount of money, believed to be a person's misplaced monthly wages was safely returned to a woman thanks to a good Samaritan, who sought help from the social media.
On Nov 19, a posting went viral on the Mesrafotografi Nizam Facebook account together with a photograph of a man holding a stack of cash labelled 'gaji Farah' (Farah's wages).
"Please make this viral. I found a stack of cash like this, without any information other than the label 'gaji Farah' and a voucher coupon. The location is in Larkin (Johor Bahru). Just SMS 016-xxxxxxx," the post said.
Netizens helped Nizam to track down 'Farah' and later on the same day, Nizam posted on his profile that he had managed to locate her.
"Alhamdullilah (Thank God), thank you for everyone for helping. I have already found the owner.
The next day on Nov 20, he posted a photo of Farah with her wages, adding that he posted the image in Facebook to prove that it really happened.
"The reason I'm posting this picture is to prove that this really happened and that I don't have any other intentions," he said.
Nizam also posted a screenshot of a text conversation from his phone, saying that he had little patience for those who want to cheat him.
The SMS conversation consisted of an unknown number asking him if he could deposit the cash he found into a bank account.
When Nizam asked who the person was, the latter claimed to be Farah and asked him to deposit the cash into a bank account again.
"For your information, especially to those who just got to know me, I returned the money I found because I am honest.
"But I am also a someone with little patience 'penyabar nipis' when there are those who try to cheat me.
"I am still getting some phone calls and text messages asking me to bank in the cash that they supposedly dropped even though they are outside of Johor," he added.
