Husam Musa 'walking on thin line'

KUALA LUMPUR: Former PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa, who was given extra time to account for his recent outburst against party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, is walking a thin line between "legitimate" criticism and party rebellion.
The party's Central Committee wants him to answer charges that he dragged Hadi into a controversy.
Husam had said Hadi wanted to form a unity government with Umno.
By doing that Husam had angered the powerful ulama faction in PAS and they now want to take action against him.
On Tuesday, the central committee however extended time as he was seeking treatment in China for an illness.
"He has to appear within the new time frame next month," said party secretary general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan.
Husam faces suspension, expulsion or a reprimand.
Husam, who is also Salor assemblyman, is a stringent critic of Hadi and the ulamas.
He did not leave like other progressives to form Parti Amanah but stayed and is now a thorn on the party's side.
