SHAH ALAM: PKR vice-president Chua Tian Chang (pix) said he will cooperate with the police to assist their investigation on Nurul Izzah Anwar's meeting with self-styled Sulu princess, Jacel Kiram.
The Batu lawmaker, who is better known as Tian Chua, said he has no choice but to cooperate with the authorities.
"If the police want to call me, then do it. I will wait.
"I have no choice. If I do not cooperate, then they will arrest me," Tian Chua said when met by reporters at the 11th PKR National Congress held here today.
He was responding to the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar's statement on calling him to assist investigation on the meeting between Nurul Izzah and Jacel.
When asked whether he is responsible for the meeting, Tian Chua said the accusation made by Deputy Prime Minister cum Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is baseless.
"I have denied and asked Zahid to retract his accusation," he said.
It was reported that Nurul Izzah, together with Tian Chua, had gone to the Philippines on Nov 9 to meet political stakeholders in the country including Jacel.
