40 Malaysian students stranded by flood at Menakshi Dental Collage

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Embassy in New Delhi and Consulate-General Malaysia in Chennai will continue to identify Malaysians affected by the flood, which has pounded the states of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, in India to provide the necessary assistance.
In a statement here today, the foreign ministry said the consulate-general reported that 40 students from the Menakshi Dental Collage were stranded.
It said eight students had been temporary placed at the consulate, adding the ministry would continue to monitor the situation.
The ministry said the Malaysian Government also expressed condolences and sympathies to the Indian Government and its people, especially families and victims affected by the flood.
