1MDB issues clarification on fake Wikipedia entry

PETALING JAYA: In a media statement released earlier today, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) debunked information about it operating an entity called '1MDB Airlines Berhad'.
"1MDB refers to a fake Wikipedia entry and fake information circulating on social media regarding the setup and operations of a so-called "1MDB Airlines Berhad".
"We confirm that there is no such company owned or operated by 1MDB," it said.
It added that the government's strategic development company had publicly confirmed since February this year that it will not enter into any new investments or new businesses and is focused solely on implementation of its rationalisation plan.
"We request members of the public to ignore this fake information and to not be influenced by any third party claiming to act on behalf of 1MDB in relation to this matter," it said.
A check by theSun found that the said wiki page had been recently deleted in within the past 24 hours (pix).
