KUALA LUMPUR: A search and rescue (SAR) operation is being conducted for three people who are said to be trapped during a water surge incident in Hulu Langat on Tuesday night.
Kajang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Fire Senior Officer 11 Kahar Abdul Halim said the two men and a woman were climbing a hill in the Gunung Nuang river area when the incident took place.
He said 11 firemen were rushed to the location of the incident after receiving an emergency call at about 8pm.
"The victims contacted the department to inform us that they were having difficulties finding their way out when darkness started to descend and one of them sprained his leg," he said.
Kahar said the SAR was still going on and an alternative route was being worked out to reach the victims. — Bernama
