Capt Hasman's remains scheduled to arrive in M'sia on Jan 6

    KUALA LUMPUR: The remains of Malaysian soldier Captain Hasman Hussin, who was killed in a flood disaster in Missouri, United States arrived in New York at 5.30am today (Malaysia time).
    The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), in a statement said the flight from New York to Malaysia, as of now have been scheduled to leave New York on Jan 5 at about 12.20am and will arrive at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at about 1.35pm on Jan 6.
    "We are working closely with our counterparts in Unites States to repatriate the body earlier then as scheduled," the statement said.
    Hasman, 33, was attending an engineer captains career course at Fort Leonard, Missouri since Oct 1 when he was killed.
    He was with four other course mates on an excursion when they were trapped in a vehicle which was swept away by flood waters, as was reported to Malaysia's deputy chief of mission in Malawakil, Washington DC Saiful Annuar.
    All five were reported to have perished and the bodies of the other four soldiers were recovered earlier.
    Hasman is survived by his wife Siti Hazwani Ahmad, 29, and a three-year old son Mohd Aqil Tahfiz.
