PASIR GUDANG: The involvement of state government owned company Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd (IWH) in the development of Bandar Malaysia will bring more benefits to Johor.
“We are even more fortunate as we got it through international open tender,” Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin told reporters after officiating a multi-purpose community hall in Taman Scientec here today.
IWH is a public-private partnership between Credence Resource Sdn Bhd and the Johor government-owned Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn Bhd (KPRJ).
Khaled said IWH has been involved in the development of some areas in Iskandar Region and was well-known for Its development projects.
Khaled also hit out at certain quarters who had criticised the move.
“What is wrong for a Johor company taking a development project in Kuala Lumpur? We are not buying it, we got it via open tender,” he said, adding the involvement KPRJ in this project is bound to bring more benefits and progress for the people of Johor.
On talk of cooperation between PAS and Umno, Khaled, who is an Umno supreme council member, he said Umno has not held any discussion on the matter since its general assembly last year.
