PUCHONG: Police have received the transcript and statement from the interview with former PetroSaudi executive Xavier Andre Justo yesterday.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar told a press conference today that police received translated copies of the documents which were originally recorded in the Thai language.
"We will review the transcript, please give us some time," Khalid said after a hi-tea event with the Malaysia Community Policing Organisation at Puchong Utama today.
He added that apart from this, police will also have to analyse more than 200,000 e-mails connected to the investigations.
"This is not an easy task and it will take some time for us to review more than 200,000 emails linked to the investigations," he added.
On Dec 15, a police team led by Bukit Aman CID deputy director (investigation and law) Datuk Amar Singh left for Thailand to record a statement from Justo.
Justo who is serving time in a Thai prison for blackmailing his former employer, was sought by Malaysian police to aid in investigations pertaining to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
