KUALA LUMPUR: More than 1,000 participants of the anti-TPPA protest begin their march to Padang Merbok from Masjid Negara.
The participants, mostly clad in green, march along the 600-metre route to their destination, before converging with other groups of participants from various spots.
Shouts of "Taknak TPPA", "Hancur Penindasan" and "Hidup Rakyat" filled the air, alternating with the sound of cars honking as a show of support.
Several PAS leaders were seen leading the group from Masjid Negara, among them was PAS youth chief Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz.
PAS' Unit Amal, which made a presence after a hiatus in Bersih 4 rally last year, monitored the march to avoid any untoward incident.
Organisers of the protest had initially planned to gather at Dataran Merdeka, but had to divert their route to Padang Merbok as authorities had cordoned off roads leading to Jalan Raja.
