KOTA MARUDU: Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) has not decided on the courses to be dropped from the sponsorship list of foreign universities.

"However, we may introduce twinning programmes of two years abroad and two years at home," he told reporters after attending a Meet-The-People programme at the Kampung Tinangol Long House here, today.

Also present were his deputy, Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi and Kota Marudu UMNO division chief, Datuk Wetrom@Mohd Fikri Bahanda.

Ismail Sabri said MARA would review its policy of sponsoring students abroad in line with the government's aim to make Malaysia a regional education hub.

Under the new policy, only selected students will be sent to study abroad while the rest will be placed in local universities. – Bernama
