Kedahans not happy with resignation

ALOR STAR: The news of the resignation of Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir as Kedah mentri besar did not go down well with the man in the street, with most of those theSun talked to feeling disappointed.
Siti Mariam Rusli, 18, said she was a bit frustrated and disappointed with the current political situation.
"Mukhriz is a young and energetic leader, he understands what the people in Kedah want, especially youngsters like me," she said.
When asked whether she would support the new mentri besar, Siti Mariam said she would wait and see if the new MB can do a better job than Mukhriz.
Textiles trader Yau Chiu Hoon, 76, said he prefers young blood to helm the mentri besar post as they will have new ideas to lead the state.
"It has been a chaotic transition. Mukhriz was doing fine as MB," he said.
Another Kedahan, K. Valli, 60, said she was not so happy with Mukhriz being replaced but hoped the transition will be smooth.
"What we want is actually a peaceful transition and a smooth government.
"I hope the new MB will do his best when he assumes office," she said, adding that Mukhriz had done a good job leading Kedah.
Faridah Md Zabidi, 21, said she prefers Mukhriz to remain as MB and thinks he should not have been remove from his position after less than a term in office.
"The way he has been removed is not appropriate. Mukhriz was a charismatic leader and had been very stern on curbing unhealthy political activities in the state," said Faridah, who comes from Ayer Hitam, where Mukhriz is the state assemblyman.
Her friend, Siti Jannatin Aliyah, 25, said she shared a similar view and hoped the new MB would be able to perform as well as Mukhriz did.
