KUALA LUMPUR: Celcom Axiata Bhd aims to triple its post-paid customer base following the launch of the First Gold and NewPhone plans yesterday.
“We have to take advantage of the Chinese New Year (festival),” its chief of sales and marketing officer Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin told reporters at the new plans launching ceremony yesterday.
“With this, we hope to grow our post-paid customers more than three times from what it is today,” he added.
The telecommunications company (telco), which at present has almost 13 million customers nationwide, however, declined to disclose its post-paid customer base currently.
As of the second quarter ended August 2015, it had 12.34 million customers, including 9.5 million prepaid and 2.84 million post-paid customers.
At RM80 per month, First Gold offers 10GB of monthly internet, which includes unlimited calls and SMS, unlimited Yonder music for 12 months and carry-forward unused internet of up to 5GB per month.
The new plan is available from Tuesday until March 31.
For the NewPhone plan, Celcom’s post-paid customers will be able to exchange their 4G LTE smartphones to the newer smartphone models, with no commitment to any plan or contract.
“Starting from as low as RM55, post-paid customers can enjoy a brand new phone without having to pay the full price or any upfront changes anymore.
“After 12 months, customers can easily return the phone and exchange with the latest model without any fee or extra cost,” Zalman said.
Celcom also introduced an internet pack called FattNet from Xpax for its prepaid customers, which offers 8GB of monthly internet, including free 88-minute calls and 88 SMS, as well as unlimited free high-speed internet usage between 1am to 7am known as unlimited internet “Burung Hantu”.
FattNet is available from tomorrow until March 31.
