69 Indonesians attempting to leave the country illegally, caught (UPDATED)

PONTIAN: Marine police arrested a boat skipper and five helpers for attempting to illegally take out of the country 69 illegal immigrants, including 61 men and eight women today.
Marine Region 2 deputy commander Supt Salehuddin Mat Zaman said the illegal immigrants had gathered near the coastal beach side of Kukup Island before leaving by boat to Indonesia.
In the 12.15am Sunday operations, three marine boats managed to intercept the the speeding boat after a 30 minutes high speed chase in the waters of Kukup.
"The get-away speed boat which used three engines with 200 horse power each costing some RM170,000 have been seized together with the illegals and crew members," said Salehuddin.
He said the 69 Indonesians aged between 18 and 53 years are being investigated under Section 5(2), Section 6(1) (c) and Section 15(4) of the Immigration Act 1959/1963 (Amended 2002) for attempting to leave Malaysia through an unlawful point of entry and travelling without valid documentation.
The skipper and and five helpers are arrested under Section 26(a) Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti Smuggling Migrant Act ATIPSOM 2007 and under Immigration Act 1959/63 for attempting to leave Malaysia through an unlawful point of entry.
