Boy, 11, drowns in nursery pond

JOHOR BARU: An 11-year-old boy drowned while swimming in a pond used for watering plants at a nursery in Lorong Haji Abd Manan, Parit Selamat, Yong Peng, today.
Batu Pahat police chief ACP Din Ahmad in the 3.40pm incident, Noriman Nasrul Rozi was swimming with some friends in the pond located nearby Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaaan Dato Seth, before he got into difficulties.
His friends called for help and rescuers recovered the boy's body at around 6pm, he said in a statement here today. — Bernama
