Car bursts into flames after highway accident

    NIBONG TEBAL: Two driver escaped with minor injuries in the morning of Chinese New Year day although one of the car involved in the accident burst into flames after they collided with each other at 149KM North South Expressway.
    South Seberang Prai police chief Supt Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad said in the 8.30am incident a Proton Iswara which was heading to Penang was hit from the rear by a Proton Persona.
    "The Persona after the collision moved further in front and stop at the left lane of the road before it was engulfed in fire.
    "While the Iswara skidded and crashed into the divider on the left of the road," he said in a statement.
    Although the Persona car was totally damaged, the victims only sustained minor injuries.
    The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and investigation is currently being carried out.
