KLANG: A murder investigation has been launched after a 87-year-old man was found dead in his house at Taman Seri Sentosa here today.
Ong Chock Meng, believed to have been dead for few hours, was found by his son with bruises on his head and face.
South Klang police chief ACP Azman Abdul Razak said the man was staying alone in his house for 16 years while his six children are married and living separately.
"The last time his children visited him was on Feb 2 for Chinese New Year and he was found dead by one of his sons today about 8am.
"The deceased was found clad in a white T-shirt and blue shorts,"said Azman.
He added that preliminary investigations revealed that the gate and lock of the victim's house were forced open.
"The Selangor Forensics team headed by Inspector Harman found a knife, a nine-inch screwdriver and five finger prints at the scene and hope it can shed some light on the identity of the suspects," he said, adding that the robbery could be the motive behind the murder.
The victim's body has been taken to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) for a post-mortem.
