AG to file objection against Khairuddin

KUALA LUMPUR: Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali will be filing an objection against an application for leave for a judicial review by former Batu Kawan Umno vice head Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan.
The leave application for a judicial review was to challenge Mohamed Apandi's decision that he was satisfied that no criminal offence was committed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak pertaining to a RM2.6 billion donation, transfer of funds by SRC International into his personal banking account and provision of a loan by pension fund KWAP to SRC International.
Senior Federal Counsel Shamsul Bolhassan, who represented Mohamed Apandi as the respondent, told this to reporters after the case was mentioned in the chambers of High Court deputy registrar Nor Hasniah Ab Razak today, which was also attended by counsel Haniff Khatri Abdulla, representing Khairuddin as the applicant.
Shamsul said the AG's Chambers would be filing the objection on March 3.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Haniff said the court had set March 18 to hear Khairuddin's leave application for the judicial review and the court had also ordered both parties to file their respective submissions on March 3.
In his application on Feb 3, Khairuddin applied for a court order to quash the decision by Mohamed Apandi on Jan 26, which exonerated Najib of any wrongdoings relating the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) investigations into the three matters. – Bernama
