SEBERANG JAYA: The Penang Road Transport Department (RTD) would not hesitate to take legal action against anyone who made false accusations against the department over the recent fatal shooting of nasi kandar restaurant owner Syed Amin Jainul Abidin.
According to its director Noorul Habib Abdul Guduse, the department is currently gathering evidence before lodging a police report against those who claimed the department has a connection with killing.
"Accusations that indicate that the department is behind the killing is irresponsible and does not make sense at all.
"Only stupid and irrational people will believe such claims," he said during a press conference in a joint operation in conjunction of the Chinese New Year celebration the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway here yesterday.
He said the matter is now in the hands of the police.
"Please stop all the rumour-mongering about us (Penang RTD) being connected to the killing," Noorul said.
