PETALING JAYA: A Kenyan was arrested following the fatal plunge of a 20-year-old youth who is believed to be a transvestite at the Subang Parkhomes in SS19, Subang Jaya today.
A staff of the apartment's management office who saw the youth fall from the third floor at 9.30am alerted the police.
The victim, a Sabahan from Sandakan, was killed on the spot.
Police who were initially told that a woman had fallen to her death at the apartment were taken aback when they learnt that the victim was a man clad in women's clothing and had a long-haired wig on.
Initial investigations showed that there was foul play in his death.
Subang Jaya police chief SAC Yahaya Ramli said a Kenyan who is in his 40s and works here was arrested at an apartment soon after police arrived at the scene.
He said the suspect was in the midst of packing his bags to flee the place.
Neighbours told police that about three hours earlier, they had heard the suspect and victim embroiled in a heated argument.
In an unrelated case in Taman Puchong Utama, Bukit Puchong, on Tuesday, a peeping tom was apprehended by the public after two women he had earlier peeped at a toilet of a grocery store teamed up and confronted him.
Yahaya said the women had taken turns to use a cubicle at the toilet when they spotted a shadow over them and became suspicious they were being watched from an adjacent cubicle.
They waited for the suspect to step out of the toilet but when there was no sign of him, they alerted a security guard.
Minutes later, the suspect, a 25-year-old Myanmar, stepped out of a cubicle and tried to flee the scene but was held.
Yahaya said a third woman showed up at the scene minutes later and claimed that she too had a similar encounter when she went to the toilet earlier.
He said the foreigner is being held for further investigations.
