BENTONG: The debris of an aircraft found on the shores of Mozambique early this month, believed to belong to MH370, arrived today for analysis before being sent to Australia for further verification.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the debris arrived today morning together with the investigation team from the Department of Civil Defence and MAS as well as the MH370 special investigation team.
"Tests and analysis will be conducted in advance on the debris found in Mozambique before it is sent to Australia for verification if it actually belonged to MH370.
"On when the results will be obtained, that I cannot confirm and I will leave it to the experts ... but we hope as soon as possible," he told reporters after officiating the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Karak Excellence Awards Day and Parent-Teacher Association general meeting today.
Early this month, a one-metre long white debris, believed to be the Boeing 777's horizonal stabiliser was reported to have been found on the coast between Mozambique and Madagascar by an Amercian man.
Meanwhile Liow also expressed the government's commitment to continue conducting the MH370 search mission and uncover its mysterious disappearance.
"We know not only the family members but all Malaysians want to know what really happened to Flight MH370.
"The important thing is we need to get the black box and any evidence to find the exact cause of the accident," he said. — Bernama
