MALACCA: Four non-Muslims including an Iranian were arrested on suspicion of trying to spread propaganda books on non-Muslim teachings in Taman Kebaya Paya Datok, Alor Gajah, here yesterday.
State Islamic Religious Department (JAIM) enforcement chief Rahimin Bani said the three men and a woman, aged between 20 and 43, were nabbed at 4.30pm.
He said initial investigations revealed that the suspects were recruited as preachers at a health care centre in Tampin, Negri Sembilan and worked in groups to spread non-Muslim teachings.
"We found 40 books in three languages including Malay entitled 'Pengharapan Agung' which are using the word 'Allah' in the car the four suspects were travelling in," he told a press conference here today.
