JKM provides monthly financial assistance to brain cancer patient in Baling

BALING: The Baling Welfare Department (JKM) said monthly financial assistance of RM300 has been given to brain cancer patient Mustaffa Kamal Shaari.
Its officer Shamsul Izrin Ishak told Bernama that the department had approved the monthly assistance after Mustaffa who previously rented a house with his wife Suriati Hashim, 38, in Kulim, settled down in Baling.
"Beginning early this month, we are providing monthly assistance of RM300.
The department will also issue a support letter for medical treatment cost exemption to Mustaffa and will help any families, eligible to receive assistance," he said after visiting Mustaffa at his home today.
The media had previously reported that JKM had failed to provide monthly assistance to the former employee of a factory in Seberang Perai, Penang, who suffers from brain cancer.
The couple have a son, aged 11, who is studying at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Lindungan Raja, Sedim, near here.
