Pillow-wielding Taiwanese battle in streets of Taipei

TAIPEI: Feathers were flying as hundreds of people clashed in a mass pillow fight in the capital of Taiwan on the weekend, in a joyous cathartic exercise.
Excited children and adults wielding animal-shaped pillows joined in the mock melee, staged to release pressure and anxiety on International Pillow Fight Day, the China Times reported.
The revellers came garbed in costumes of cartoon characters and dinosaurs, adding to the levity.
The annual event in Taipei is also held partly to help boost the city's image to the outside world, Now News reported. — dpa
