KUALA LUMPUR: Pandan Member of Parliament, Rafizi Ramli (pix) is expected to be remanded under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code today.
He is expected to be taken to the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court at 2pm. His statement was recorded earlier at 9am.
Rafizi was detained yesterday as he left Parliament about 6pm and is believed to be investigated under the Official Secrets Act for revealing certain classified documents involving 1Malaysia Development Berhad.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak is initiating legal action against Rafizi.
According to Najib's lawyer, Datuk Mohd Hafarizam Harun, the premier had instructed him to send a Letter of Demand (LOD) to Rafizi demanding that Rafizi apologise over allegations made during a speech at an anti-GST rally last Saturday.
Hafarizam said his client wanted Rafizi to retract his allegation, failing which it would normally lead to the plaintiff filing a defamation suit.
