KUALA LUMPUR: The second season of the Malaysian Youth Video Awards is back as a platform to showcase some of the best creative talent the country has to offer in the inter-university landscape.
Organised by the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM), the awards has been dubbed as the largest inter-varsity social media video challenge which provides the opportunity for young talents to let their creative juices flow and hone their skills by producing videos which their generation can relate to.
"We wanted to engage the youths to increase their awareness of good life planning and choices and also to educate them on the importance of life protection.
"Which is why the campaign mission is 'Value Life, Capture Life and Share Life' and the theme of the awards is 'You Only Live Once'," said LIAM's chairman of industry promotion committee Ramzi Toubassy at the launch of the competition today.
He said that to date over a 180 entries have been received from universities and they expect to surpass their target of 541 entries from last year's inaugural competition.
Any Malaysian aged 18 to 25 who are interested in participating may submit their storyboards, script and synopsis to www.youthvideoawards.com by May 5.
A grand prize of RM 8,000 is up for grabs, while the second place winner will bring home RM5,000.
