PETALING JAYA: A 34-year-old man was slashed by a group of assailants in what is believed to be a possible revenge attack at a restaurant in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, early this morning.
Sentul police chief ACP R. Munusamy said the victim had gone to have supper and was waiting for his friends at a restaurant when three men arrived in a car.
"The victim, who is a local, suffered multiple slash wounds on his leg. He is in stable condition and is warded in Hospital Selayang," Munusamy told theSun.
On seeing the attackers whip out parang, the victim ran out of the restaurant but could not escape the men.
Munusamy said initial investigations revealed that three men and a woman are the suspects in the case as the victim recognised the assailants.
"Although the motive of the incident is yet to be ascertained, police believe it could be revenge because the attack was due to personal matters," Munusamy added.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing hurt using dangerous weapons.
