PETALING JAYA: The National Union of Flight Attendants Malaysia (Nufam) today slammed Malaysia Airlines chief executive officer Christoph Mueller (pix) for stepping down before completing his job.
"Finish what the people hired you to do Christoph Mueller.
"You can't simply run away from what you have started and abandon the rest of your crew," Nufam said in a statement today.
Nufam had also reportedly said that with Mueller's sudden departure, it will certainly bring about another chapter of leakages in MAS again.
The union also pointed out that there are endless issues that are yet to be resolved and promises that are yet to be fulfilled.
It said that Mueller has a bigger challenge than just recovering losses for MAS which is the complexity of the legacies and politics as well as the tough competitions in the industry.
Nufam demanded that MAS answer its queries on Muller's replacement and whether that person is qualified to bring changes that had been decided upon initially.
MAS had announced that Muller will be stepping down in September well ahead of his three-year contract expiry date.
The airlines had said that the CEO was stepping down due to "changes in his personal circumstances".
