MIRI: Four-term Senadin assemblyman Datuk Lee Kim Shin says the rapid development in his constituency is evidence of his efforts to achieve progress for the people.
He pointed out that a large part of Senadin which he had represented since 1996, used to be a forest.
"But now there are three satellite towns and various infrastructures for the local community," he said.
Lee is satisfied with his achievement for the area and aimed to continue his efforts including creating more employment opportunities for the people.
"The Permyjaya shopping complex for instance, offered about 1,000 jobs. This is important, instead of just criticising and making preposterous statements," he said.
He said this while launching his achievement report card and plea to voters in the 11th Sarawak state election, here today. Also present was MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
In the state election this time around, Lee is being challenged by DAP candidate Dr Bob Baru Langub and Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru's Philemon John Edan.
The state Development assistant minister said his report card showed 101 developments and improvements that he had carried out in his constituency.
The developments included a university, three high skill colleges, an international school, more than 30,000 new housing units, an international standard go-kart circuit and three shopping complexes.
Other were, upgrade of Miri Hospital to a regional hospital to serve northern Sarawak; construction of another secondary school and primary school in Permyjaya and more low cost houses.
Lee's report card and plea, printed in Malay, English, Mandarin and Iban were distributed to the public during his campaigns. — Bernama
