KUALA LUMPUR: Cancer patients can now search and book online for information and services provided by the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM).
This follows the NCSM's collaboration with online healthcare platform BookDoc to widen the public's access to it.
Now, the services offered by NCSM's Cancer and Health Screening Clinic and Nuclear Medicine Center can be searched and booked online instantly through BookDoc's application.
NCSM president Dr Saunthari Somasundaram said with this app, users can easily search and book slots which are convenient to them.
"The booking can be done anytime, anywhere," she said at the launching ceremony of the application at the NCSM building here today.
She said patients should not shy away from cancer consultancy and urge them to engage with NCSM if they have any query.
BookDoc founder Datuk Chevy Beh said the collaboration is a part of its corporate social responsibility to make the service more accessible.
"We deeply appreciate the importance of timely access to care. Early detection of cancer and immediate treatment greatly favours the chances of recovery," he added.
He said BookDoc is also launching a fundraising campaign for NCSM where it will donate RM1 for each person who registers for the application to NCSM.
The person only needs to enter the word "CANCER" to its special code to confirm the donation.
BookDoc can be downloaded for free through Google Playstore and App Store.
