For Adenan Satem, Iban "Ooo-haa!" means, "I love Sarawak!"

KUCHING: For Tan Sri Adenan Satem, "Ooo-haa!", an Iban call for the community to convene, and which has obviously become one of his favourite exclamations, means "I Love Sarawak!".
He explained what the call meant to him, while launching the Sematan Riverbank project and Sematan Rivermouth rehabilitation programme in Sematan, about 100 km from here, today.
The Sarawak chief minister by embracing this 'social heritage' of the Iban has certainly endeared himself to the community so much so that whenever he utters it at functions or events, he never fails to get a thunderous "Ooo-haaa!" in return.
Meanwhile, Adenan is also known to exclaim, "You-you!" at functions and events in the rural areas.
According to him, it means, "You know what I know" among friends. — Bernama
