Lionsgate unveils release date for Ewan McGregor's directorial debut

ACTOR Ewan McGregor's directorial debut American Pastoral is set for a limited release on Oct 21, with Lionsgate studio to expand the run one week later.
The drama, starring McGregor as well as Uzo Aduba, David Strathairn, Jennifer Connelly, Rupert Evans, Peter Riegert and Dakota Fanning, follows the story of Seymour "Swede" Levov, a legendary high school athlete, who eventually marries a former beauty queen and takes over his father's business, reports Variety.
The plot is based on Philip Roth's 1997 novel, the first in Roth's American postwar trilogy, which was followed by I Married a Communist and The Human Stain.
The script was adapted by John Romano, with Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi tapped to produce along with Andre Lamal. — AFP Relaxnews
