GEORGE TOWN: PKR veep Nurul Izzah Anwar (pix) is keeping her fingers crossed that she be allowed entry into Sarawak tomorrow (May 2).
She is heading to the Borneo state to assist her party in the state elections campaign with the campaigning periods is in its final legs as voters will cast their votes on May 7.
The Lembah Pantai MP said she has already written to Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem on the matter.
She questioned why there were obstacles placed on national opposition leaders entering Sarawak (the state has autonomy over immigration powers) to campaign.
She said such restrictions were a bar against democracy and urged that double standards not be practised.
"We will see how tomorrow," she said when asked about the matter after she and other PKR leaders attended a dialogue with the Penang Chinese Town Hall (PCTH) today.
On seats where both PKR and DAP are contesting, Nurul Izzah described the contest as a "friendly one."
"May the best candidate win," she quipped and pointed out 90% of the seats Pakatan Harapan (PH) was contesting in were straight fights against Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates.
