Anti-crime operation nets 58 illegal immigrants

SEREMBAN: An integrated anti-crime operation at a construction site in Nilai near here resulted in the arrest of 58 illegal immigrants on Tuesday.
Nilai police chief Supt Zaldino Zaludin said in a statement today the 51 men and seven women comprised 46 Indonesians, six Vietnamese, five Bangladeshis and one Myanmar.
He added that 27 kongsi houses were demolished during the 3-1/2-hour operation from 7.30am in which 88 personnel from the police, Immigration Department and National Registration Department took part.
He said the immigrants had been handed over to the Immigration Department. — Bernama
