PETALING JAYA: After 13 years of no delineation exercise in the country, the Election Commission (EC) today announced new voting districts and several locality corrections based on the latest geography information system application.
Without elaborating on the number of changes being made, EC secretary Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh said it was done in line with Section 7 of the Elections Act 1958 (Act 19).
"This announcement (and the changes) only involve voters who are registered in the electoral roll (Daftar Pemilih) up to Sept 30, 2014, that was gazetted on Nov 26, 2014.
"It is to notify voters to check their voting districts and voting centres at the allocated centres," he said in a statement today.
For further information, the public may visit the commission's official website www.spr.gov.my, or call its headquarters at 03-88927000 or any other state election offices.
