IPOH: Friends and neighbours have started to gather at the home of Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Wan Mohammad Khairil Anuar Wan Ahmad eager for news on the helicopter crash.
One of them, Badiuzaman Mohd Hashim,66, who is also from Bukit Chandan, said he knew Wan Mohammad when they were both teenagers, adding that he was a cheerful person.
"Never uttered any negative words ... approachable personality ... his favourite pass time is fishing.
"I am still shocked about the crash ... I was in Kelantan when the news came in," he added.
Bukit Chandan village head, Ibrahim Nokman Kushairi, 53, said Wan Mohammad was a generous man who went out of his way to help people in need.
"During the floods in 2014, when Sayong village located across Sungai Perak was badly hit ... he never failed to provide assistance and made sure the victims were well taken care off."
Another villager said Wan Mohammad's approach in solving problems had even earned him praise from the opposition.
