PETALING JAYA: Top Glove founder and chairman Tan Sri Lim Wee Chai has been awarded a Doctorate in Business by Oklahoma City University (OCU).
The award, which was approved by the Board of Trustees of OCU, was given based on numerous recommendations received.
"Based on the very special recommendation from Meinders School of Business Dean Steven Agee, as well as numerous letters of recommendations from many of our OCU alumni in Malaysia, I am pleased to inform you that you have been unanimously approved by the Board of Trustees of OCU to receive an Honorary Doctorate in Business during our May 2016 commencement ceremony," OCU president and CEO Robert Henry said in a letter to Lim.
Commending Lim for his accomplishment as a visionary leader in the Top Glove Group for the past 25 years, Henry congratulated him for his continuous improvement in personal education and encouraging his employees to obtain additional education.
"The recommendation we have received from OCU Malaysian alumni indicate you are a healthy conscious employer, which is exemplified in your personal motto for success – 'Work is my hobby, Exercise is my duty and Health is my wealth'.
"I wish more Americans would follow this prescription," Henry said.
