edotco Malaysia to build up to 2,000 telecommunication towers this year

    CYBERJAYA: edotco Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Axiata Group Bhd's infrastructure company, aims to build 1,000 to 2,000 towers across Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Pakistan and Myanmar this year.
    Group CEO Suresh Sidhu said of the total, 200 to 300 will be built in Malaysia.
    "Last year we built 1,700 structures within Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Pakistan. Of the 1,700 structures, 250 were built in Malaysia," he told reporters at the launch of its High Speed Mobility Solution for Cyberjaya today.
    edotco provides end-to-end solutions in the tower services sector.
    It has over 16,000 towers in the six countries where it operates. In Malaysia, it has over 3,600 sites nationwide.
    The High Speed Mobility Solution in Cyberjaya was rolled out in partnership with Setia Haruman Sdn Bhd and its subsidiary Setia Haruman Technology.
    The company is investing RM5 million to set up 22 sites in Cyberjaya. It has already set up 40-50% of the sites and expects to fully implement all 22 sites by end of June.
