Salvatore Ferragamo and Sara Battaglia reinvent the classics

SALVATORE Ferragamo has teamed up with luxury bag designer Sara Battaglia on a new capsule collection.
The Italian house is celebrating its founder's "colourful life" and creativity with the new range, which is inspired by the inherently Italian notion of "lo splendore della vita", or "the splendour of life". The collection is named "Sara Battaglia for Salvatore Ferragamo."
Featuring four different handbag styles in various sizes, as well as a wallet, notebook, pouch, key chain and belt, the collection updates classic Ferragamo pieces while nodding to the brand's heritage. There are day bags with woven silk scarf detailing and bold evening clutches in metallic and rainbow hues, finished with brass and lacquer.
Several key pieces of the collection playfully channel one of Salvatore's most iconic shoe designs -- the Rainbow Wedge, created in 1938 for screen idol Judy Garland. It has been reinterpreted for the modern woman as a series of kaleidoscopic bags and small leather goods.
"It is an honour for me to collaborate with Salvatore Ferragamo, a brand whose unique mix of history, innovation, irony, style and unparalleled class provided me with the perfect chance to twist the iconic Rainbow Wedge into something new," says Battaglia.
Battaglia founded her eponymous brand in 2011 and has achieved success thanks to her fresh and modern bag designs.
The Sara Battaglia for Salvatore Ferragamo collection is available to purchase both in stores and online at www.ferragamo.com, priced from €175 - €1,950. — AFP Relaxnews
